Launched in may, the innovative technology from Volvo Penta integrates changes, direction and acceleration in a single joystick, allowing maneuvers smoother with the use of only one hand, for simpler operations, a more precise control and a superior experience.
Volvo Penta Joystick Driving can be used in all the sizes and types of boats. You can install it comfortably on the armrest of the driver's seat, ensuring a posture ergonomic driving. The joystick is simply pushed forward to engage a gear, accelerate or decelerate, and are loose to stay at a given speed. The acceleration is proportional to the angle of the joystick. When you pull the joystick backward, reducing the throttle and the boat stops. To further enhance the driving experience, the electronic shifting allows acceleration and deceleration are smooth.
The Program of Innovation Awards IBEX , now in its twentieth year, is administered by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and judged by Boating Writers International (BWI).
