Technology is a great ally of the compass. There is equipment for a variety of functions that make it easier to navigate, more secure, more comfortable and more efficient. In addition, there are equipment specific to fishing and other water sports.
It is evident that it will be chosen by an equipment or another depending on the type of boat and the uses that you will want to take. However, there are technologies that it is highly advisable to incorporate.

Equipment recommended for the navigation:
- Radar: this set of radar technologies highlighted with colors moving targets, which makes it an indispensable equipment for the safety.
- Plotter: not only take you to the place elected, but that can also display data from other installed equipment such as radar, motors or lights. By using the GPS, the chartplotter can show your exact location on a navigation chart, in addition to information about the direction, the speed, the depth, the pitfalls, etc
- Sea charts of high resolution.
- Radio compass VHF: for emergency calls and direct calls. It is essential that you carry a built-in GPS, and that includes frequency bands of all channels nautical, national and international.
- Compass nautical by satellite. It is not an equipment as necessary as the above, but makes it easy to navigate and provides a plus of security. Not only is pointing to the north, but that, through a receptor-band, provides information on possible problems in situations of sea agitated, such as details about the roll, pitch, or the degree of lift of the bow of the boat.

- Transducers: provide readings of the probe of the water that is below your boat, showing the structure and composition of the fund and the fish that swim in the area. Can be linked with the plotters by offering real-time imaging with a great detail.
